Powering the Google Pixel 7’s plethora of ingenious features backed by machine learning, the phone is equipped with the Tensor G2 chipset. As the second generation of Google's in-house Tensor processor, the Tensor G2 comes with many upgrades. One of the most notable is an upgraded GPU that provides about 20% better performance and efficiency. The new GPU also boosts the machine-learning-focused Tensor Processing Unit (TPU) by 35%. Just like its predecessors, the Google Pixel 7’s camera does not disappoint. With a 12 MP ultrawide camera, a 50MP main wide-angle lens, and an upgraded 10.8MP selfie camera, the Google Pixel 7 allows for a diverse number of shots.

Though the cameras are exceptionally good, offering sharp, colorful, true-to-life images, the technology behind the camera is what really sets it apart from others. Some of the computational tools the Google Pixel 7 includes is ability to easily erase unwanted people and/or objects in your photos, turn static shots into action photos, remove the blur from faces, and improve the camera's ability to capture diverse skin tones. The Google Pixel 7 is also outfitted with an upgraded “Night Sight” feature and the “Super Res Zoom” feature, an AI-enhanced zoom feature that helps keep shots clear and focused, while also maintaining resolution when zoomed into. It also comes with the new “Photo Unblur” feature that crisps and cleans up blurry shots.

The Google Pixel 7 also takes generating the perfect images even further than the original capture with many photo editing features.

Brighter Display

While maintaining the adaptive 90Hz refresh rate present on former models, the Google Pixel 7 has a much brighter display (1,400 nits). This helps users to still be able to clearly see their phones screen in outdoor environments, even in direct sunlight on a cloudless day.
